In order for the raising process to be successfully completed the outside temperature needs to be above freezing and absent any heavy rains.
Once the raising process is complete, you will be able to walk on the serviced area immediately. Outdoor furniture and small items may also be returned. We recommend keeping heavy weight off for the first 24 hours.
In some cases, we may need access to an electrical outlet. Every job requires access to a water spigot so we may make our slurry mixture, clean the service area down, and clean any other mess we may have made.
We recommend waiting up to 24 hours before driving on the lifted concrete.
Concrete consists of a mix of sand, gravel, and cement. The mixture used in mud jacking is a mixture of sand, clay, and cement. The substitution of gravel is necessary to allow the mixture to flow through the injection nozzle without getting clogged.
Due to the heavy nature of concrete, occasionally after a lift is complete you may notice the residual pressure release as the slurry cures and it may result in forcing the plugs up. Should you notice the patch work has moved, please contact our service team and we will take care of it for you.
Most cracks can be repaired with caulk or patching. Some instances where the concrete has degraded too far, or the cracks are too big may prevent a successful repair.
Caulking is the best choice. This provides a solution that not only seals the crack but remains flexible to allow for future movement of the ground. However, cracks over 1 inch in width are not ideal for caulking and may require another method of repair such as a concrete patch or epoxy paste.
Most crack repairs can be completed in just a few hours.
Some more extensive repairs may take up to a few days to complete.
If you’re unsure of whether or not you need a crack repaired, give us a call for a free consultation at (630)746-5395.
Typically, a crack repair should last between 5 and 7 years before needing to be sealed again.
Concrete should be sealed every 3 to 5 years. If you are using a lower grade sealer, then every
other year.
The sealer will need time to fully cure. This can take up to 48 hours depending on sun exposure and temperature. Once the sealer is cured and tack free, it can be used.
We do not recommend having concrete sealed when rain is in the forecast. Should rain impact your scheduled service day, our team will promptly reach out and reschedule it for the first available date.
Sealing must be done when air temperatures are above 45 degrees Fahrenheit and under dry conditions for at least 24 hours.
We recommend cleaning your concrete regularly and making it a part of your yearly maintenance schedule.
Typically, power washing services are completed in one day. Depending on the size of the area to be cleaned, it may take only a few hours or up to a few days.
The concrete surface should be swept, washed and dried before applying sealer. All furniture and other objects should also be removed.
Remove any personal items, furniture, cars, etc. from the area to be washed or sealed.
Power washing is achieved using water under pressure. Washing cannot be completed unless the temperature is above freezing to prevent any damage to the surface or the equipment.
Unfortunately, we do not offer animal removal services. If you know you have an animal calling your void home, we recommend having the animal removed prior to service.
Most voids can be filled in just a couple of hours. Bigger or less accessible areas may take up to a day.
Our slurry mixes are made on site. With water being a component, the outside temperature must be above freezing for service.
